  1. Cinema: Escapism

“Cinema is not only about making people dream. It’s about changing things and making people think”. Nadine Labaki

Cinema has a part of my life from when I was a child, I remember watching my first film and I was lost in its story.

It’s escapism and the movie can let your imagination take you somewhere else.  This can be distraction for people with struggles in their lives.

Cinema is a truly a genre for everyone, whether it comedy, thrillers, romance, horrors and many more. As technology has evolved the Cinema experience has also evolved.

  1. Cinema: Fun & entertaining

“The cinema is really built for the big screen and big sound, so that a person can go into another world and have an experience”.  David Lynch

So many different type of experiences offered by cinema organisations.

IMAX is a known format that provides movies with larger screens and great sound, the experience is immersive and a worthwhile experience

4DX is a fairly new format with all the senses available whilst your watching your movie.  The seat would also mimic movement; a great example would be fast and furious during action shots in the cars.

3D has been available for many years and still a well-known format to watch a movie.

Concerts and theatrical shows have also begun to be streamed onto cinema screens in the past few years. For example, so you could view a show from New York on a huge screen.  This is particularly great for people who don’t have a local theatre.

These formats enhance the viewing experience and can easily add to your escapism.

  1. Cinema: For everyone

“For me and my films, I want my audience to experience cinema in its full glory. It’s not just visual, it’s audio as well. It’s emotional, and I want you to be engaged with not just the scene but with the characters”.  James Wan

Cinema is for all, the film product is available for all.  The immersive experience is for everyone, whether you like your dramas, action, comedy, romance and many more.

I have visit the cinema a few times each month, it’s my love of movies.  I watch from Hollywood, European, Korean, Chinese and the many more.

It’s an option for all and not perceived as an expensive day or night out.  There are so many schemes and discounted offers available.

  1. Cinema: The experience

“I think cinema, movies, and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made film were magicians”.  Francis Ford Coppola

The cinema experience is like no other, you can enter the cinema and be wowed.  Most cinemas have coffee shops, restaurants and food counters available.

I recall my first few experiences staring at the posters of what’s coming soon.  The joys of eating popcorn whilst watching the film on a huge screen, this cannot be replicated anywhere else.

  1. Cinema: Social environment

“Cinema can fill in the empty spaces of your life and your loneliness”.  Pedro Almodovar

Cinemas have evolved over the past ten years with coffee shops such as Starbucks and Costa being available within certain establishments.  We have seen cinemas with their own restaurants and waiter services available.

The cinema has become a social environment and not just about watching the movie.
