Great Places to visit

According to the Global Peace Index the following countries are the most peaceful. When we travel on holiday/vacation we look for many qualities such as warm weather, beach, city escapes and overall a safe environment. The following have been ranked by the GPI and institute for Economics and Peace.

  1. Ireland

Ireland has become a popular destination, Dublin City known for its Viking history, known for its great social scene with its local pubs with exciting food and drink.  The city is also know for its events and festivals but also its coastal towns and villages.  There is much more to see too from Galway, Belfast, Derry – Londonderry and much more.  Let’s not forget the great sights to see where Game of Thrones has been filmed.

  1. Japan

Japan is a country that has extraordinary landmarks, amazing scenery but also the culture.  The cities such as Hokkaido, Tokyo, Hiroshima provide a range of sights and culture.   Majority of Japan landmass is mountainous, with its beautiful landscapes and great cities, a country of endless views.  Lets not forget Japanese cuisine from Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, Yakitori and much more.

  1. Singapore

Singapore is a country known for its great food, its landscape from its botanic gardens, Canning Park and Gardens by the Bay.  That is not all, its art and culture, shoppers dream and activities including the world’s largest wind tunnel for indoor skydiving.  Singapore’s nightlife is well known for its 24-hour shopping, night safari, go fishing for prawns whilst you enjoy a drink.  There is so much to see and take part in.

  1. Czech Republic

Czech Republic, known for its cities Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Litomysl and many more.  The great sights of each city are amazing from its historical towns, museums and galleries.  There is so much to view and activities to take part in whether it’s a summer or winter break.  There are opportunities for cycling experiences, a round of golf and even hiking. Also let’s not forget skiing during winter months.  A recommended destination for a break for couples and families,

  1. Canada

Canada, a plethora of places to visit and you can keep on exploring, Cities to visit including Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City with endless sights and activities. A few highlights, if you love your food then the St.Lawrence Market is the place to visit, it has been named by the National Geographic as one of the best in the world.  Toronto is an entertainment district for its film festivals, CN Tower, Ripleys aquarium of Canada.  Kensington market which is a street market with a wide range of cultures from clothes stores, restaurants, cafe and market stalls.  A great country to visit with so much to see.

  1. Denmark

Denmark, well known for Lego, originated from Denmark by Ole Kirk Christiansen, who started the Lego Group in 1934.  A wonderful opportunity to visit Legoland from the country it originated.  Many more highlights such as the Tivoli gardens for its garden view and a wide range of rides.  Other places to visit Copenhagen Zoo, the National museum, Mermaid statue, Blue Planet aquarium and many more.

  1. Portugal

Portugal, so many sights and activities for all, whether you’re single, couple and a family.  If you’re looking for a short break Lisbon or Porto are beautiful.  If its art and culture, some lovely towns and villages hold tradition and monuments worth viewing.  If its Sun and Sea that excites you, some of the beaches of Portugal have been awarded the EU blue flag for their excellent conditions and amenities.

  1. Austria

Austria, known for its Ski holidays, whether its snow gliding, hiking, winter paragliding, snow biking, ice skating and other activities; there is wide range of activities.  Salzburg known for its culture and music, the birth place for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  The festival for classical music, which is one of its kinds within a beautiful city with its surrounding mountains.  These are just a few highlights, with so much to view and take part in.

  1. New Zealand

New Zealand, also known as the home for middle earth, ever since the first Lord of the Rings was released. The Hobbit was later filmed and there are opportunities to view the tour of film locations.  That’s not the only thing New Zealand is know for, its great culture and activities within the islands.  To name a few highlights the Maori culture, the opportunity to learn about Maori traditions from its war Haka, known by the Rugby football team to its performing arts and the Maori language.  A beautiful country and so much to view and engage.

  1. Iceland

Iceland, is a beautiful country especially for outdoor enthusiasts known for its mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, caves and much more.  Highlights include Whale watching, Northern lights, Motorised adventures, hiking, ice climbing, helicopter tours, cycling and much more.  Icelandic food have many popular dishes from its fish and lamb traditional meals due to fresh waters and clean nature supporting fresh vegetables. Iceland is also known for its festivals it holds annually.  A great place to visit and be involved in all it has to offer.
